Halloween Happiness!

Wow Halloween is so different now that we have a little guy who understands the idea! It has been so much fun talking about pumpkins, fall, and the tricks and treats of Halloween this month! 

We went to a little kid concert yesterday with Celeste and her mommy Skye and they gave festive goodie bags at the end. Jackson threw his ghost duckie in the water and luckily a nice dad fished it out for us! We also visited the Whisenant Family and met their new baby boys-- just 6 weeks old! Tyler and Dylan keep getting cuter! It was adorable to see how Jack found them to be so cute! He tickled their little toes and rubbed their baby heads.

After lunch and nap today, we went to a fun kid/adult party at the Winslow's home. Our little Dino had a blast showing off his costume, dancing with Auntie Kelly, eating tons of treats, playing with the other little kids, dipping caramel apples, licking the caramel over and over again, and seeing the Chargers win! It's true that when the game is blacked out, we win!

Tonight we went to a few neighborhood houses and gave out candy as well. Biscuit thought he should join us in the family fun.  Jackson tried to go into half of the houses we visited. We may have found some new baby sitters...little did they know! Here are some videos of our night adventure:

Our big boy turns 21 months this week! REALLY! I've taught him to say "I'm almost two" instead of saying "I am one." He says both sometimes, or tonight he said to a neighbor, "I am one, two, three!" HA HA! 

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween! It was a chilly evening in Sunny San Diego, so the dino was warm but Minnie was freezing! OH...Sierra went as a doting father and happy husband! =)

Picking Pumpkins

Yesterday we traveled to Oma's Pumpkin Patch and discovered pumpkins and flies! I think because of all the rainy days we have had recently, the flies were in full force at this dairy farm. It seemed like the flies and bees outnumbered the pumpkins! But they didn't stop Jackson from choosing his pumpkin or playing in the tractors, trucks, hay maze, and other fun activities! We are really enjoying this age because all of the sudden he has SO many things to say and he remembers things we have done! He first did this the other night after we saw a magic show at  "Dolphin School" (my work). So cute! He also is getting really good at remembering people and their names! He must get that from me. :) Look at our little pumpkin last year at this time!!!

Mama and Jack Day

I had so many night meetings over the last week (and coming up) that I gave Sierra the day "off" and he went golfing while I spent time with my favorite boy! What a beautiful day in San Diego! 



Jack and I spent the morning at the zoo with Ali and Charlie--so much fun! Charlie is the sweetest boy -- his little noises are so precious! Ali is so good with her little man and we can't wait until the boys can play together. For now, Charlie (4 months) and Jackson (20 months) enjoy each other in different ways...Charlie stares at Jackson with an intense curiosity and Jackson gives Charlie a stare down to keep his distance from his territory--me. At one point I was holding both boys (sorry people in line who were waiting for the buckets--strollers can be cumbersome!)...and Jack was not too happy about sharing me. Side note--why do people wait for your parking spot when they see you are just unpacking your kid and a stroller? I don't get it.

After we came home and had lunch and a nap (wish I did, too), Jackson and I met Skye and Celeste (almost 2!) at Lakeshore for a free craft day. I needed to get things for my classroom so perfect timing! As we went to wait for the craft, Jackson spotted a football and insisted that I get it down for him. Of course I did and then it never left his side...he didn't even do the craft! Celeste made a really cute briefcase for all of her important documents. She later told Jackson that he should poop in the potty (like her). I'm glad he is getting peer pressure from his lady friends!

Everyone seemed to enjoy our little QB tossing his football around Hazard Center--and it was REALLY fun to watch him climb up a flight of 30 stairs! Thank goodness for the elevator on the way down. It felt like an hour getting back to the car because he kept passing and hiking the football -- even a stranger stopped to play with him at one point. Oh and if you are a teacher, it's Educator's Week at Barnes and Noble...25% off! YAY!

My little boy was so excited about his football that he took it to bed with him along with his stuffed animals Scout, Kitty, Woof-Woof, Lolly, and Penguin. I think I broke a record for fastest bedtime routine tonight--he practically crashed after such an eventful day!

Oktoberfest

We enjoyed  edUCate's annual Oktoberfest yesterday with friends and family! Grandpa Terry and Gram Roni visited and brought Jackson a really cool bike! Now all he needs is a helmet for his big head and a little more length in his legs so he can push the pedals! Dan, Steve, and Baby Charlie as well as Auntie Autumn, Marcos, and Junior joined in the Oktober fun! The Blue Angels flew over our heads as we enjoyed the afternoon. Each time, Jackson would stop what he was doing to check them out...he just loves those jets!
