::A View of Riley's Womb::

On Friday night we went to check out Riley's womb! We did 3D ultrasound photos with Jackson at this point in the pregnancy so we wanted to compare and check to see how our little baby was growing!
Jackson in 3D
Riley in 3D

We all closed our eyes as the technician located the baby's position (since we didn't want to find out the gender). The tech was very careful not to scope below the belly so all of our images consist of belly and up. Since we knew Jackson was a boy, we viewed the entire body. But, the surprise of a lifetime will be worth it come
Riley's birth day!

Jackson enjoyed seeing his baby brother or sister on the screen and said, "OH baby Riley you are SO cute!" When Riley wouldn't move his/her arm from the face area, Jackson yelled, "MOVE your arm, Riley!" But Riley didn't listen to Big Brother or the technician who kept shaking my belly. Oh well! We already see the resemblance to Jackson and see features from both Sierra and myself! We will show the DVD on Thanksgiving to our families.

Riley was moving so much that it was hard to snap a picture. The DVD is pretty special because you can see all the little actions like thumb sucking, opening and closing his/her mouth, waving, etc. I agree with Jackson--baby Riley is SO CUTE!

Busy Weekend

We had a fun and busy three day weekend which started out with donuts, an oil change, and meeting the Silvas for some fun at Funbelievable. We have a Groupon that expires soon and Jackson acted like he was going to Disneyland--his eyes were huge the whole way to Lakeside. Apparently everyone else with the day off went to Funbelievable as well -- it was packed!

That night we visited baby Avery Van Gunst -- such a little doll! She was born to Kurt and Katherine not even a week ago and is PERFECT! Jackson showed little interest. Kurt gave him a guitar lesson and that was much cooler than a newborn.

On Saturday morning we drove to Dana Point to meet the other Izzards (Gram and Grandpa) at their timeshare. Jackson got carsick and luckily saved the mess for the parking lot. Then he was good to go! We walked around San Juan Capistrano in the drizzle, jumped through puddles at the Mission, ate a yummy Mexican lunch...followed by a yummy Mexican dinner.

So focused, Sierra!

Jacuzzi bubblebath!

We drove home yesterday morning after a little walk along the beach (again, Jackson was feeling carsick towards the end but spared us the barf), did some chores, grocery shopping (got the Thanksgiving Butterball), took Bubba for his haircut, and while Jack napped I went for a pedicure and manicure. Woo hoo! Too bad I came home and decided to scrub the stove and smudge my nails.

Autumn and Junior came over for dinner and it was nice catching up with them since Autumn has been out of town the last two or three weekends. She brought Jackson a cute shirt from Miami but he refused to wear it this morning to preschool--he is SO into Cars merchandise these days. He has a new Cars shirt, toothbrush, toothpaste, and underwear. Speaking of -- he isn't wearing a pull up at night anymore! We decided to give it a try since I had the extra day off and he has had one accident in four nights so we will continue wearing undies to bed. I thought it was only fitting that we celebrate his one year of potty training with ditching the pull ups at night!

Junior and Jack

Last night after Autumn and Junior left I started to feel really yucky. I had spent the day congested and figured it was from the down pillows at the timeshare (I am allergic). Suddenly I started to have body aches so I took a bath and couldn't stop shaking. I finally took some Tylenol and my fever broke...but I stayed home today because I still had a temperature and was feeling icky. When I told Jackson I was staying home today he said, "What day is it? Is it a howlyday (holiday)?" It is weird to be home sick and I think even more strange to be alone...it is so quiet at the Izzard Residence.

However, look at all the things I have accomplished:
  • I caught up on some reality TV
  • fixed my sewing machine (operator error!)  because I could call Singer during their Mountain hours
  • made an appointment for a 4D ultrasound (can't wait to see Riley!)
  • cleared my inbox of unwanted emails (3,545 to be exact)
  • planned our Turkey Day menu (we are hosting)
  • washed three loads of laundry
  • watched Abby and Biscuit be lazy in the sunshine
  • slept
  • spied on Jackson at preschool via their webcam -- he is the only one to sit still during a story! and he's first to lay down for nap even when other kids are still playing.
  • researched eBay for reselling my diaper bag (since I want a new one)
  • researched Nordstrom for new boots
  • did some Blog reading
  • browsed nursery gliders on line
  • realized I am 7 months prego!

Countdown to Thanksgiving Vacation...4 days! Woo hoo!
I hope my flu doesn't make anyone else sick, too! :/

Babes for Boobs & 3rd Trimester

Last Sunday we took part in the annual Susan G. Komen Walk/Run for breast cancer awareness. I did this walk a few years ago with girlfriends and this year we were part of a team that my friend Heidi organized: Babes for Boobs. I have had several friends over the last few years diagnosed with BC and thankfully they are all survivors. Thank you to everyone who donated to our team!

Sierra, Jackson, and I raised $300 for breast cancer awareness, treatments, and services and enjoyed a nice walk in our new double stroller. Heidi's son Willson was Jackson's seatmate for our test drive. Jackson kept complaining that Willson had his foot on his side and of course Willson thought it was comical to annoy Jackson...oh boys! Hopefully Riley won't bother his/her big brother for a few months at least. Jackson was getting a sneak preview of what siblings are all about!

OH, and we LOVED this new stroller! I did a lot of research after my work suggested buying me one as a shower gift. Well, I found the exact model I wanted on Craig's List a few weeks ago and couldn't pass it up--it is in near perfect condition and came with every single extra attachment they make! We now stroll with the Indie Twin Bumbleride. Baby Riley will have his/her own bassinet in the beginning so Jackson can't cross sides. Ha!

Preschool Fall pictures came this week! Look at our BIG boy!
new 20 minute activity--
checking toy catalogs for Santa's list

My 3rd trimester started! I see the doctor every two weeks now.
Baby Riley is still measuring almost two weeks ahead. Oink! Lots of dance parties in my tummy all the time! I love feeling these movements even if a hand or foot is pushing on my ribs. I officially hit 20 pounds of weight gain. I am feeling great!

I can't say I have had any real cravings because all food is delicious. Maybe spicy food? I love it anyways but I really enjoy it now. I could eat Viet
namese Pho or Thai everyday with lots of heat!

I have had an issue with varicose veins this pregnancy--gross. They get puffy in my left leg while I sleep so I've been wearing sexy support hose at night. A new thigh high pair was ordered for me the other day -- oh lovely! You, too, can enjoy these during the day or night -- since they are shear and come with a beautiful lace band...only $50 at your nearest Rx.

I think one of my favorite things during this pregnancy has been Sierra's attentiveness. He massages me with lotion almost every night. He didn't do that when I was pregnant with Jackson. I think he realizes what a true miracle it is to have a baby. It really is such an incredible process that I could never take lightly. SO amazing!

Enjoy the weekend! I hope the sun comes out soon!
